Realtors® Association of York and Adams Counties (RAYAC) recently launched MyYorkCityLiving.com, a unique website that aims to help both current and future residents explore the benefits of city living.

“As Realtors® we consider ourselves ambassadors for cities, neighborhoods, and communities, especially for the city of York,” said Shanna Terroso, government affairs director at RAYAC. “Knowing that nine out of 10 homebuyers and renters begin their search online, RAYAC saw the need to develop a website that is a one stop shop for buying, renting and living in the White Rose city,” Terroso said.

In addition, the website serves as a one-stop portal for existing information about city news, resources and images, as well as homeowner incentive programs that make urban living more appealing and affordable.

“We all know our beloved city has its challenges,” she said. “Too often those challenges receive more emphasis than the wonderful offerings of an urban lifestyle. Our hope is that this will allow our members to educate their buyers and sellers about the true benefits of homeownership in York City.”

Some of the highlights of the site include:
• A neighborhood map of York City which highlights the 17 neighborhood associations in the city. Pictures are available of all of the neighborhoods along with descriptions of amenities.
• A York City Attractions page featuring links to restaurants, night life, shopping, lodging, attractions, recreation and fitness.
• A Live Here tab provides information on homeowner incentive programs for York City as well as how to find a Realtor® and search open houses. The main feature of the tab is the ability to look for housing for sale and apartments for rent.
• A rental search page provides a list of apartments for rent and information on lease terms such as if water and sewer are included in the monthly rent.
• A Work Here tab provides information on starting a business in York City, links to career development and transportation in the city. There is also a property search for commercial listings that are for sale or lease.
• The Learn Here tab has information on all of the public school districts and charter schools in York City as well as private schools and post secondary and college facilities in the York community.

“To create this website we knew we could not do this alone so we reached out to our like-minded partners to make this idea a reality,” Terroso said.

“With the financial partnership of the City of York, Better York, The York County Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Downtown Inc., York Young Professionals and a $2,000 homeownership opportunity grant from our national association, our site went from a concept to a vivid website,” she said.
